Here is a glittery creative way to add some sparkle to your balloons. It doesn’t take a lot of materials and can be fun to make and give your party a unique look.
- Balloons (Already blown up)
- Tacky glue
- Sponge brush
LET’S GET STARTED
Step 1: Draw a shape, letter, or design onto your balloon with your sharpie. Try to keep your designs fairly small. The bigger the design, the more glitter will be needed, and the more it will weigh down your balloon.
If you use a sharpie color close to the color of your glitter, the outline may not be as recodnizable.
Step 2: Use your sponge brush to fill in your design with the tacky glue.
Step 3: Once you have your shape filled with tacky glue, begin pouring your glitter onto the glue. Make sure you get all the glue covered. You may want to lightly pat it down to help the glitter stick well.
Step 4: Shake off the excess glitter and make sure the whole shape is filled. If you need to go back over the empty areas with more glitter.
Tip 1: Fine glitters work better than chunky glitters. Bigger flakes weigh down the balloon more
Tip 2: If you have glitter that sticks to your balloon in areas that you don’t want it, you can use a damp paper towl to wipe it off. Just be careful you don’t mess up your design.
Tip 3: Although these are a very cool project it is a temporary one. After a few hours the glue can start to peel off of the balloons. Plan to do these as close to your event time as possible.
